Lubelskie voivodeship is attractive for representatives of Iran

Delegation from the Province of Khuzestan visited lubelskie voivodeship

We have already written many times about the fact that the companies from lubelskie region are known both in the country and worldwide. We are pleased to inform you that the richest region of Iran – Khuzestan also expressed its interested in our region.

On 23-25th of January 2017 Lubelskie Voivodeship hosted the trade mission from the Province of Khuzestan, one of the most important provinces of the Islamic Republic of Iran in terms of economy.

The Iranian delegation included the highest representatives of local government, headed by the Governor of the Province of Khuzestan and the managers of the most important organizations responsible for economic development of the region, such as the representatives of the Arvand Free Economic Zone, Special Economic Zone of Mahshahr Petrochemical Industry, Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture of Ahvaz, as well as the representatives of the energy sector and agriculture. The guests could get to know the lubelskie voivodeship from a completely different perspective. A modern building of Lublin Conference Centre is a perfect place for business and science representatives, where Economic Forum took place.

Poland - Iran Economic Forum

Biznes Lubelskie Team positively responded to the proposal of the Iranian side and became the host for Iranian delegation and the organizer of Poland - Iran economic Forum. The aim of the event was to present the economic potential of lubelskie voivodeship as an attractive place for investment, and the offers of the companies operating in the region. The Iranian delegation also presented their offer and showed a wide range of opportunities for cooperation between Polish and Iranian entities, and emphasized the opportunities for Polish companies for signing contracts in Iran after the abolition of economic sanctions imposed on that country.

 

 

B2B session

B2B session was an excellent opportunity for companies from lubelskie region to establish direct contacts with the most important business organizations from the Province of Khuzestan. Our companies conducted intensive talks with the Iranian partners.

The participants of B2B session emphasized considerable cooperation opportunities between Poland and Iran in many sectors as Iran is a country with a great potential.

 

 

The first trade mission results were visible already during the visit!

Lubelskie voivodeship has its potential located both in the companies and in R&D centers. Our region provides a diverse educational offer at 18 institutions of higher education. At the beginning of the academic year 2014/2015 in the region there were 81 thousand students, next year 77.5 thousand. In the academic year 2014/2015 there were 24.2 thousand universities graduates, and in 2015/2016 22.5 thousand. Lublin is a strong hub for human capital – 68 000 people are studying here at 9 universities, that is 6% of all students in Poland.

During the forum, the Rector of Medical University of Lublin, professor Andrzej Drop and the Rector of University of Medical Sciences Esmail Idani, Mr. Ahvaz Jundishapur, signed a memorandum of understanding, which will allow for the development and close cooperation between regions and for the exchange of students, as well as conducting joint research projects.

 

 

Study visits in the companies
 
PZL Świdnik - is the only Polish manufacturer of OEM with full capacity in the design, research and development, systems integration, production, implementation support and training and the modernization of helicopters. The products of PZL Świdnik can be used in civilian and military missions.

 


 
URSUS –  is a Polish company producing machinery and equipment for agriculture, with rich experience and latest technologies. The products of URSUS  are known all over the world, including Africa. Recently, the company became recognised thanks to its plans for production of electronic vehicles.


 
SIGMA SA – is the manufacturer of machines designed for mining, environment and energy.


 
Another important event were study visits of the Iranian delegation. They visited PZL Świdnik S.A., URSUS, SIGMA S.A., Medical University of Lublin, Lublin Oncology Center, Zakłady Azotowe Puławy S.A.. Guests could become familiar with those companies, their production plants and products that could be exportet to Iran in the future.

 

The outcome of the Iranian delegation visit:
 

  • Signing of cooperation agreement in investment and technology transfer by the Group Azoty Pulawy and Petrochemical Special Economic Zone Mahshahr
  • Signing of memorandum of understanding between the representatives of SIGMA S.A. and the Khuzestan Development and Investment Company
  • Signing of agreement between the company URSUS S.A. and the Free Economic Zone Arvand Esmail Zmani

 
Our region remains open for the cooperation with Iran and hopes for further effects. Both, companies form lubelskie region and Iran have a great potential that should be used extensively.
