Visit of Chinese delegation
Last week the Marshal of the Lubelskie Voivodship, Sławomir Sosnowski visited Henan Province in China. That visit was an another chapter in more than 10 years of the cooperation between the two regions. Economic and commercial cooperation, as well as joint cultural and tourist projects were the main discussed topics in the delegation programme. One of the largest and the most important meetings, organized in the Lubelskie Voivodship was the Polish-Chinese Logistics Forum. In addition to the official delegation from the Henan Province, we also hosted a business delegation at the Lublin Castle. B2B meetings enjoyed great popularity, and entrepreneurs from the Lubelskie Voivodship were interested in the issue of export of local products to China. Moreover, so far we have organized 5 missions to China and systematically we have been hosting the incoming missions from the Middle Kingdom.
The delegation was welcomed by Małgorzata Błaszczyk - Osik, Deputy Director of the Department of Economy and Foreign Cooperation of the Marshal's Office in Lublin. Biznes Lubelskie Team presented the investment potential of the Lubelskie Voivodship. Guests from China were particularly interested in the potential of the region, regarding its cross-border location in the area of eastern EU markets and the "Customs Union of Russia, Belarus and Kazakhstan". In the light of planning the future economic co-operation many crucial issues appeared, such as broad-gauge railways linking - without the need of transshipment of foods on the way between our region and China, as well as research facilities available at universities located in the Lubelskie Voivodship.
The Chinese partners emphasized that Lubelskie Voivodship is an important partner in the global map of the New Silk Road due to logistics, rail transport and industry. On the first day, the Chinese delegation held B2B meetings with representatives of regional agri-food and tourism companies.
The next day began with a visit to the LubApple consortium, which brings together six producer groups from the Lubelskie Voivodship. Thanks to the cooperation with Business Lubelskie, LubApple has become one of the largest companies in the orchard industry in Europe.
This week we have the pleasure to meet with business representatives who deal with direct import of Polish juices, beverages, mineral water and fruits to China.
In recent years, the authorities of the Lublin Voivodship have been making efforts to build lasting relationships with Chinese partners. An essential point of the program of the visit of the Chinese delegation was at first presentation of the potential of the Lubelskie Voivodship in the context of tourism and business tourism. The region, as a place which offers the beauty of unspoiled nature, unique values of climate, landscape and a variety of tourist attractions delighted our guests.
