✔ Large hard coal deposits - the Lublin Coal Mining District (18.7%4 of national deposits).

✔ Favourable conditions for the development of renewable energy sources:

1. Lubelskie Voivodeship is located in the area which is considered to be one of the best places to use solar energy in Poland.
2. There is a possibility of implementing small hydro power plants.
3. Approximately 130 areas proposed for the development of wind energy.
4. Biomass energy – reserves of land for growing energy crops.
